UV DTF Film MOQ, Lead Time, Storage Life and Support
Most buyers ask about price first and these four things second: how few rolls can I start with, how fast can you ship, how long can I keep the film on the shelf, and what happens when my operator gets stuck.
Those four questions decide whether a trial order turns into a repeat order. Here are the answers, with the numbers stated plainly and the parts they do not cover stated just as plainly.
What Is the Minimum Order for UV DTF Film?
One roll. That is the MOQ, including for a first trial order.
We set it there on purpose. You cannot evaluate a crystal label film from a spec sheet — you need to print on it, laminate it, strip the waste and stick it onto your actual product. One roll is enough to run that test honestly, and it keeps your exposure small if the film turns out not to suit your ink or your substrate.
Standard sizes are 30 cm / 60 cm rolls and A4 / A3 sheets. If your product needs a different width or a cut sheet, send the dimensions and we will quote it.
UV DTF Film Lead Times: Stock Versus Custom
| Order type | Lead time |
|---|---|
| Standard specifications | Ample stock held — ships within 48 hours |
| Custom specifications | 3–5 days |
Two things those numbers do not include, and both matter when you are planning a production run:
The 48 hours is dispatch, not arrival. Transit time depends on your destination and the shipping method, which is a separate calculation from production. If you are working back from a delivery date, ask for the transit estimate for your address rather than assuming the 48-hour figure is door-to-door.
The 3–5 days starts after the specification is confirmed. Custom width, custom length, custom labelling or custom cartons all need a confirmed spec before production can be scheduled. Artwork or specification back-and-forth sits outside that window.
How to Store UV DTF Film
Storage is the least glamorous part of this business and the one that quietly destroys the most material.
| Condition | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Temperature | 18–28 °C recommended |
| Humidity | 40%–60% RH |
| Light | Store in the dark — keep away from UV light sources |
| Environment | Cool, dry, out of direct light |
The reason is the adhesive. Heat, moisture and UV all act on it while the film sits in storage, and the change is not visible from the outside. A roll that has spent a summer in a hot warehouse still looks like a roll. It just does not behave like one when you laminate it.
That storage band is also why the same numbers show up when we talk about your working environment: an ambient temperature that is too low hardens the adhesive layer and raises release force, which is the usual reason a B film feels tight and lifts the graphic. Storage and shop floor are two ends of the same problem.
UV DTF Film Shelf Life: 9 Months for A Film, 12 for B Film
In unopened original packaging:
| Film | Shelf life |
|---|---|
| A film | Within 9 months |
| B film | 12 months |
Once a roll is opened, use it promptly. The reason is specific: the adhesive can dry out, and a dried adhesive layer no longer bonds — which reads as “the film stopped working” long after the film left us.
There is a practical consequence worth planning around. The two films do not share a clock, and the A film is the shorter one. If you buy them as a pair and stock them together, plan your reorder against the A film, not the B film. Otherwise you end up with usable B film and expired A film on the same shelf — a loss that shows up as a stock shortage you did not expect.
What we do not publish
We do not quote a shelf life for an opened roll, because the number would be meaningless. It depends on how you reseal it, the humidity of your store room, how often the roll is handled and how long it is left exposed. If you are running a partially used roll and want to know whether it is still good, the test is practical rather than documentary: print a small patch, laminate, strip and check the transfer. That takes minutes and tells you more than a date code.
The 9 and 12 month figures are for film kept inside the storage band above. Film stored hot or damp will not reach them — and that is not a warranty argument, it is just how adhesive behaves.
UV DTF Film Technical Support: Videos, Guide and One-to-One
The concern behind this question is usually not “do you have documentation.” It is “will I be able to produce sellable output with my own operator and my own machine.”
| Support | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Step-by-step operation videos | In Chinese and English — the four-step process end to end |
| Troubleshooting guide | Aimed at the common problems operators actually hit |
| Online one-to-one technical guidance | Remote support from our technical team, continuing until you are producing qualified product consistently |
The third one is the part that matters most, and it is worth being precise about what it means. It is not a fixed number of calls. It is the standard we hold ourselves to: support continues until your production is stable, not until someone has answered a set number of questions. If your problem needs photos or a video of the failure, send them — most lamination and waste-removal faults are diagnosable from a short clip of the peel.
What Our UV DTF Film Answers Do Not Cover
Three honest gaps:
- We do not promise a delivery date from the 48-hour dispatch figure. Production speed and transit are different clocks, and only one of them is ours.
- We do not guarantee that storage inside the band preserves the film indefinitely. The published shelf life assumes unopened packaging and the stated conditions. Beyond either, performance depends on factors we cannot verify from our side.
- We do not set a fixed session count for technical support. We set an outcome — stable, qualified production — which is a harder promise to make and a more useful one to receive.
If a supplier gives you precise numbers for all three without asking about your destination, your store room or your operator, ask what those numbers are based on.
