Buying DTF film for the first time is usually a two-step decision: test it, then commit. The questions that decide whether that goes smoothly are about minimum order quantity, how sampling works, and whether batch five will perform like batch one.

What Is the DTF Film Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?
Normally 100 rolls for an OEM order of DTF film.
That number attaches specifically to OEM orders — orders carrying your brand, your label, your carton design. It is the volume at which custom production and custom packaging make sense. Standard-format DTF film orders and sample orders are not governed by the same figure.

Free film, customer-paid freight. That structure exists so both sides take the trial seriously: you get the DTF film at no product cost, and you are testing material that will actually be on your line, not a marketing swatch.
What the shipping cost actually buys you is worth framing clearly. A wrong DTF film decision at container volume is expensive — not just the film, but the freight, the storage, the labour spent running material that underperforms, and the reorder cycle to fix it. Sample freight is a rounding error against that downside.
How to get the most out of a DTF film sample roll:
- Run it on a real production job, not a test pattern. Settings that look fine on a swatch behave differently on live output.
- Keep your current settings unchanged for the first run. If you change DTF film and settings at the same time, you will not know which change caused the difference.
- Compare like for like — same artwork, same garment, same press settings, same operator.
- Check the things that are expensive to get wrong: feeding stability, color density, powder adhesion, and release quality.
- Write down what you observed. Notes from the sample run are what you will check the production batch against.
One limitation to be straight about: a sample proves the DTF film works on your setup under your conditions. It does not prove every future batch will behave identically — that is what batch testing is for.
How Is DTF Film Batch Consistency Ensured?
Each DTF film batch is tested for coating thickness, peeling performance and color reproduction before shipment.
Three tests, each targeting a failure mode you would otherwise discover on your own line:

1. In-house testing verifies consistency, not your exact settings. Our test conditions are ours. Your press temperature, humidity and ink batch all affect the result. A DTF film batch that passes our test can still need a small adjustment on your line — that is normal, and it is why the sample step exists.
2. Batch-to-batch consistency is a process, not a single check. Anyone can show a passing test on one batch. What keeps DTF film quality stable across a year of supply is running the same three checks on every batch, which is what we do.
Practical advice for buyers running a long-term DTF film supply: log the batch you receive and note any press settings you changed for it. If a future batch needs a noticeably different setting, you have a record showing where the shift happened — the difference between a traceable issue and an unexplained one.
